Testimonies about the torturing Gaza prisoners

Khaled Mahajna, a lawyer for the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Affairs, revealed horrific facts about what Palestinian prisoners were subjected to inside Israeli prisons, and quoted testimonies of cases of brutal torture, starvation, rape and collective punishments.

He said at a press conference on Monday in Ramallah Allah that he had visited two detainees from the Gaza Strip in Ofer prison (central West Bank) on Sunday, journalist Mohamed Arab and prisoner Tariq Abed.

“A week before Arab was transferred from Sde Timan camp (south Israel) to Ofer prison, one of the sick detainees who repeatedly begged for treatment was martyred but was martyred after being assaulted,” he said. In early June, June the Israel Supreme Court began hearing a petition by five Israeli human rights groups demanding the immediate closure of the Sde Timan military detention center following reports of torture and killing of Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip inside it.
