The war has been prolonged, hunger has permeated the displacement centers in the Gaza Strip, the displaced people have returned sad, after they became unable to provide meals for their children, and the scenes of queues in front of the hospice and food distribution centers returned, but in vain, the quantities are small, and do not meet everyone’s need.
Jamal al-Agha, 42, from Khan Yunis, said that his family of eight has been living for several months on the remaining canned goods, which they had received before they fled to the Mawasi area.
He indicated that he was hopeful when he heard about an initiative by a benefactor to distribute hot meals, but unfortunately for him, the quantity ran out in the blink of an eye, as a result of the large number of destitute, who preceded him to the same place. He adds: «We have not tasted meat, chicken or even vegetables for months, and I heard about charity tables, held by one of the benefactors.
I went to get even one meal, but to no avail, I found the place crowded with hungry displaced people, and the amount of food is not enough for everyone.” He noted that weakness and emaciation have begun to appear on the displaced, Especially children, everyone’s main concern is the search for food, whatever its type and quantity.
