The US expressed concerns on Thursday over Russian-Yemeni cooperation. This comes following Yemen’s execution of a “Supersonic” strike on the Israeli occupation capital that even American and Israeli defense systems failed to intercept.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
The American envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, described the relations between what he described the “Al-Houthis” and Russia as very concerning for his country.
Lenderking, speaking on the sidelines of a conference at the Gulf States Institute in Washington, one of the arms of intelligence, pointed out that the relations between Sana’a and Moscow have reached very strong levels, expressing his fears that these relations could lead to military cooperation between the two parties.
He considered American support for Ukraine in its current war as one of the reasons for Russian annoyance, expecting it to push for greater military cooperation with the “Al-Houthis” in order to change the rules of the game.
Lenderking commented on the Yemeni missile attack on Tel Aviv, which was carried out days ago and successfully targeted a strategic site of the occupation.
The new missile is of the “Supersonic” type, developed by the Yemeni forces as part of a strategy to develop Yemeni missile systems, initiated following the war led by Saudi Arabia on Yemen in 2015.
It is unclear whether the American envoy is trying to provoke a Western or Gulf state regarding Russian cooperation with Sana’a or attempting to portray the recent missile as part of a joint cooperation. However, his timing indicates that America is also trying to justify its defeats in the region due to Yemeni capabilities and their capabilities in targeting battleships and ships as well.
