The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that it is making every possible effort to the people of the Gaza Strip to urgently provide the necessary winter supplies, including plastic sheets, tents, mattresses, mats, blankets, and other basic materials.
UNRWA explained in a press statement on Monday that it and all humanitarian agencies are facing great difficulties in bringing these materials into the Gaza Strip, noting that once they arrive, they will be immediately distributed to those in need.
UNRWA urgently appealed for an immediate halt to the destruction of homes and shelters, calling for the opening of more crossings to the Gaza Strip to enable humanitarian agencies to deliver basic supplies to thousands of families in need.
UNRWA stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire to ensure the safe and sustainable delivery of aid, and to give families a chance to rebuild their lives safely.
