Euro-Med: Israel uses booby-trapped robots
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said that the Israeli occupation army is using booby-trapped robots loaded with tons of explosives in the widespread destruction and killing operations carried out in the northern Gaza Strip, during its continuous invasion for the ninth consecutive day, with the escalation of the crime of genocide against Palestinians there by committing massacres, premeditated murders, starvation and large-scale forced displacement.
The Euro-Med Monitor added in a statement on Sunday that the Israeli army completely separated the northern Gaza governorate from Gaza City, by stationing vehicles and placing sand berms and rubble of destroyed houses, in addition to fire cover from drones.
Euro-Med Monitor explained that it has received numerous testimonies about the Israeli occupation army’s use of booby-trapped robots and their remote detonation, causing widespread damage to homes and surrounding buildings and significant loss of life, at a time when the work of ambulance and civil defense crews is almost completely disrupted, except for a small scope in some neighborhoods.
The Observatory said that Israel’s use of booby-trapped robots is prohibited under international law, as these robots are weapons of an indiscriminate nature that cannot be directed or limited to their effects only to military objectives, due to their nature, they directly hit the civilian population, or hit military targets, civilians or civilian objects indiscriminately without distinction, and therefore, they are prohibited weapons under international law, and their use in residential areas constitutes an international crime in itself.
