World Health stresses need to protect hospitals in Gaza

The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Ghebreyesus, stressed the need to protect hospitals, after Israel targeted the campus of a hospital and school in central Gaza, housing displaced civilians.

This came in a post on the X platform, on Tuesday, commenting on Israel’s bombing of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza.

He noted that people who sought refuge in hospital were killed and some seriously burned.

“Hospitals should be places of treatment and safety,” he said, stressing the need to protect them, adding: “We once again call for an end to attacks. We call for peace.”
