Air France has suspended its flights over the Red Sea, citing the sighting of an unidentified glowing object in the sky.
AFP reported, quoting a statement from the company, an unidentified luminous object in the sky resulted in the suspension of Air France flights over the Red Sea.
It was explained that the flights were halted as a precautionary measure until further notice.
Some aircraft were forced to return to their departure airports, while routes of other planes were altered, leading to extended flight times in four destinations: Mauritius, the capital of Madagascar, the Kenyan city of Nairobi, and the island of Reunion.
Tensions have been observed in the Red Sea region since November 2023; this comes as members of the Ansar Allah movement governing Yemen, which has declared its support for Palestine, threatened to attack any ships linked with Israel, urging other countries not to approach them at sea. Due to these attacks, some companies have decided to suspend transportation across the Red Sea.
The MK had previously written about a Houthi attack on a commercial ship in the Arabian Sea.
