The Humanitarian Coordinator in the oPt, Muhannad Hadi, described the humanitarian situation in northern Gaza as beyond imagination, calling for an end to the war that has caused great suffering to the civilian population.

During his first visit to the places of displacement since the start of the Israeli military operation, Hadi explained that the number of displaced people in Al-Mamouniya School in Gaza increased from 500 people in September to more than 1,500 people, in light of the lack of food and clean water and the spread of waste, which threatens the spread of diseases, pointing out that food has become a rare commodity, as people rely on simple materials such as lentils and water to meet their basic needs.

Hadi also inspected a temporary educational space for children called “The Meteor”, where 510 students receive basic lessons and psychological support, amid difficult conditions, stressing that children suffer from interruption of education and the destruction of schools.

In light of this crisis, 15 UN and international humanitarian organizations have warned that all Palestinians in northern Gaza are at imminent risk of death from disease, famine and violence, and that access restrictions impede the delivery of humanitarian aid.
