The recent Yemeni operation against American battleships on Wednesday received a regional and international response, all of which reflected the truth that had been hidden for months due to the American success in camouflaging what its forces were exposed to in the far south of the Arabian Peninsula.
Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
For the US, specifically the Department of Defense, it rushed to try to contain the repercussions of the operation on American forces that were classified for decades as invincible.
After persistent attempts to deny the attack, the US Defense Ministry admitted part of it concerning two destroyers in the Red Sea while ignoring the attack in the Arabian Sea. This not only indicates an attempt to conceal the new developments in Yemeni operations but also not to compromise its mobile overwhelming force aboard the “Lincoln.”
Whatever America’s motives for segmenting the operation, as has been its custom over the past months of the confrontation in Yemen, regional and international elites viewed the operation as one of the harsh lessons for American hegemony. Will it not make American battleships, including aircraft carriers, not become a subject of widespread ridicule as they have failed to resist Yemeni missiles and drones, shattering their prestige in the eyes of the world that had feared them for decades? Rather, it also reveals an intelligence and reconnaissance evolution of the Yemeni forces as described by the “Russia Today” channel.
For Arab elites who interacted positively with the operation, most notably the former editor-in-chief of Al-Quds newspaper Abdel Bari Atwan, the Egyptian diplomat Sameh Askar, and a large spectrum of journalists and analysts, the Yemeni boldness in the recent operation broke all barriers and rules that no Arab or major country dared to touch.
As for the analyst on Al Jazeera, Fayez Al-Dweiri, he said that the latest operation indicates that neither the American nor British forces, nor the navy or air force, are capable of causing harm to those he described as the “Al-Houthis.” They have proven their ability to target the most powerful fleets, drawing on months of unequal confrontations between American and Yemeni forces, hundreds of American airstrikes, and missile bombardments on Yemen, which have not changed anything on the map of Yemeni operations supporting Gaza and Lebanon.
This was not the first time Yemen has undermined America’s prestige and pride in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, as it has previously made the crews of the “Eisenhower” and a long list of battleships taste bitterness in operations that America chose to gradually admit, reaching to the tow of the “Eisenhower” and its sisters.
