The Chinese website “Tencent” has published a new report shedding light on the broad preemptive attack launched by Sana’a forces targeting the American aircraft carrier “USS Lincoln” and several destroyers in both the Arabian Sea and the Red Sea.
Follow ups – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
According to the report, the aircraft carrier “USS Lincoln” came under attack by Sana’a forces, forcing it to hide within a formation accompanying the Chinese navy. The following is the text of the report as published by the website:
“In accordance with a report from CCTV, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree revealed on the evening of the 12th that they used ballistic missiles and drones to carry out an eight-hour attack on the American aircraft carrier ‘Lincoln’ and two of its destroyers, rendering the American ships unable to find refuge.
Houthi attacks on the American fleet are no longer rare, as this marks the fourth time the Houthis have targeted an American aircraft carrier. The previous three times, on May 31, June 1, and June 22 of this year, they targeted the aircraft carrier “Eisenhower,” whereas this time, the target was the aircraft carrier “Lincoln.”
The US perhaps didn’t anticipate the Houthis to grow so quickly, as their fighters increased from 30,000 to 350,000 and became well-equipped, as their self-developed “Palestine” supersonic missiles have managed to penetrate the Israeli defense system multiple times, hitting Israeli military targets.
The American aircraft carrier “Lincoln” and its accompanying ships entered the Gulf of Aden on November 11 and were immediately targeted by ballistic missiles launched from Ansar Allah base 650 kilometers away. To avoid the Houthis missiles, the American destroyers resorted to hiding within the Chinese escort fleet, with satellite images showing that the American ships were sailing closely behind the Chinese fleet.”
According to reports, on November 12, the Houthi group stated that it used long-range cruise missiles, drones, anti-ship missiles, and anti-ship ballistic missiles in their precise attack on the aircraft carrier group “Lincoln,” which includes the aircraft carrier “Lincoln” and the destroyers “USS Tokdale” and “Spruance.”
US civilian satellite images on November 12 showed that the two American destroyers “USS Tokdale” and “Spruance” resorted to hiding within the escort group of the Chinese navy to avoid Houthi attacks, as the American aircraft carrier fleet closely followed the Chinese navy fleet.
The US perhaps didn’t anticipate that one day it would need to hide, and this is also a great shame in the history of the U.S. Navy.
Since the outbreak of a new round of the Israeli Palestinian conflict in October of last year, the Houthis have repeatedly attacked targets in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, demanding Israel to cease fire. It must be noted that the Houthis support Gaza and Lebanon from behind. The Houthis’ approach has always been to fight whenever they say so.
Starting from January 12 of this year, the US and the UK have carried out several airstrikes targeting military objectives of the Houthis, including power stations and missile launch sites, resulting in numerous casualties. In response, the Houthis classified American and British ships as military targets and launched ballistic missiles at any American or British vessel approaching the Red Sea.
This time, the armed Houthi forces’ attack on the aircraft carrier “Lincoln” in the Arabian Sea and two American destroyers in the Red Sea continued for a full 8 hours, and it is still unknown whether they hit the aircraft carrier, as the United States typically tends not to disclose damages.
During this period, Houthi drones and missiles continued to fly in the sky, putting significant pressure on the U.S. military. The armed Houthi drones have a long and wide range, effectively covering American aircraft carriers and warships. Their precision anti-ship missiles can strike targets with extreme accuracy at long distances. This is one of the reasons why the Houthis have always been so militant.
In addition to their strong firepower, the Houthi armed forces also excel in intelligence gathering and tactical application. At the very least, they can accurately pinpoint the locations of American aircraft carriers and warships and launch continuous attacks on them. This capability instills great fear in the US. The Houthi armed forces’ ability at least shows that they are able to monitor the movements of the US military almost around the clock.
The Houthis gather their intelligence from multiple sources, including satellite images and drone reconnaissance, allowing them to continuously monitor U.S. Navy movements and pinpoint precise locations of their ships. Once they identify ship locations, the Houthis begin using long-range anti-ship missiles. If the ships are close enough, they launch short-range missiles. These missiles have high attack power as well as being stealthy and maneuverable, making it challenging for U.S. forces to effectively counter them.
This type of attack by the Houthi armed forces has placed significant pressure on the U.S. military. Based on the duration of the attacks, it is evident that the Houthis have a substantial inventory of drones and missiles, indicating their ability to carry out prolonged strikes.
The hypersonic missiles and the drone technology possessed by the Houthi armed forces make the US extremely fearful. The U.S. military also realizes that a wise man does not face direct consequences, and hiding within the formation of the Chinese naval escort is the best choice.
