Palestinian Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan, at a panel discussion in Doha on November 14, said that the death toll or hospitals destroyed do not tell the story: “What matters is human life, human beings, and human dignity.
<span;>In Gaza, the most important things for us are our country, our dignity and our children. What is very important is that they want to make Gaza depopulated. That’s why they target health facilities.
The two-day summit was titled “The Humanity of Health: Conflict, Equality and Resilience” and focused on protecting health in armed conflict.
During the Summit’s morning plenary session, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus discussed the increase in attacks on health, especially over the past two years.
Ghebreyesus said, according to Yorick Alert, “Health facilities should not be a target, especially in light of the growing need for health care during the war.”
Two-thirds of the people who die were women and children, and stopping the war in Gaza and bringing the parties to the negotiating table was crucial. “The key to the solution lies in Israel; Israel must understand that it is in its interest to resolve this issue.”
