A team of 15 medical scientists has launched an urgent appeal to break the global silence on Israel’s genocide in the Gaza Strip for more than a year.
The appeal is titled “Condemning the Gaza Genocide and Taking Action Action,” but has been rejected by prestigious scientific journals.
The team is led by Italian geneticist Paola Manduca, and the appeal was posted on social media.
“Medical organizations around the world must condemn the denial of treatment (in Gaza),” the appeal said, adding that medical institutions that remain silent about this situation “will remain complicit in the crimes committed in Gaza.”
The appeal stated that the hospitals of “Kamal Adwan”, “Indonesian” and “return” in the northern Gaza Strip, received evacuation orders on the eighth of last October, stressing the importance of these hospitals for the continuation of the lives of Palestinians who are subjected to daily bombardment.
The scientists considered that the orders to evacuate hospitals that provide medical care to thousands of patients “are part of the Israeli genocide attempt in northern Gaza,” stressing “the need for the medical world not to remain silent in the face of this massacre.”
