Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni – Follow-ups

Enas Hamdan, acting director of the UNRWA information office in Gaza, affirmed on Sunday the worsening plight of displaced persons due to the Israeli occupation army’s refusal to allow food aid entry.

Hamdan mentioned, “The amount of flour entering Gaza is very limited and insufficient for the number of displaced people.”

She noted that “the flour crisis persists, with only 6% of the needed amounts entering through the crossings.”

The acting director of the UNRWA Information Office continued, “We distribute the available flour to displaced families based on their ID numbers, prioritizing larger families.”

Enas Hamdan added, “In Gaza City, there are distribution centers for flour, but they require prior coordination with the occupation, making work difficult in northern Gaza.”

UNRWA reports that Gaza residents are constantly at risk of drought and disease due to the fuel shortage that prevents water wells from operating, pointing out that “around 70,000 people in northern Gaza are struggling to access clean water.”
