The charity World Central Kitchen announced on Saturday the suspension of its operations in Gaza after Israel killed 3 of its workers in a bombing that targeted a car belonging to it in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
The organization said in a statement: “We are saddened that a vehicle carrying our colleagues was subjected to an Israeli air strike in Gaza. We currently do not have enough information and are asking for further details.”
It denied that anyone in the targeted vehicle was linked to the October 7, 2023 attacks.
Commenting on the targeting of the organization’s car, the car was civilian and did not bear distinctive marks, nor was it coordinated to cross the area that was bombed.
