Israeli Security Center: Yemenis have shattered America’s image as a great power, now seen as a Lame Donkey

The Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs stated that the failure of the US of America to repel the Houthis during the past periods was a reason for putting an end to the view of the US as an effective and attractive superpower for the countries of the region, considering this failure as a “cornerstone in building a new global system.”

The Israeli center mentioned in a report that the Houthis succeeded in paralyzing the greatest naval force in history and created a devastating image of the eroding American power and its declining, humiliated will, with modest capabilities.

It stated that “the material damage to the West due to Yemen’s closure of the Red Sea is enormous, but it is not the most important aspect of this problem; rather, it is the strategic and geopolitical repercussions.”

The Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs pointed out that regionally, the US’ regional status as a superpower has been damaged, potentially altering coordination with the West as the perception shifts from viewing the U.S. as a strong horse to regarding it as a lame donkey.
