The displaced have been living a severe crisis related to the shortage of flour from markets and bakeries for more than a month, while they rely on flour substitutes such as pasta or legumes and rice.

The long queues in front of the takaya distributors every day express the desperate need for food amid the current famine.
After a lot of effort, the father of the child, Hijazi, who supports a family of seven, most of them children, was able to buy a kilo of flour at a high price and was able to provide bread for his children after a break of weeks.

The five children sat with their parents around their only table of the day, with a few small loaves and plates containing canned legumes in the middle amid the joy of eating bread this time.
This displaced family from Jabalia camp lives in a small tent in “Sit Amira” camp in the center of Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip, and suffers from extreme poverty due to the lack of a source of income for their father, who lost his job since the start of the Israeli aggression more than a year ago.

The child’s siblings Bahaa al-Din flocked to only ten loaves, which are the product of a kilo of high-priced flour, expressing their lack of satiety either.
According to local sources, the aid, including flour, reaching the Gaza Strip is very scarce and does not meet the needs of the residents of the Strip.

Relief organizations began distributing bags of flour to the displaced in an attempt to alleviate the hunger crisis felt by the displaced, while the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced the suspension of its work in distributing flour according to the approved program, to replace it with distributing one bag to families with many individuals as an emergency system to address the current crisis.
