Gaza Municipality warns of an imminent environmental catastrophe due to the tragic conditions in the Strip

Gaza – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

The Gaza Municipality warned of an environmental collapse due to water scarcity, sewage leakage, and waste accumulation in the city of Gaza, as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression and the destruction and sabotage left by the occupation army since the beginning of the aggression more than a year ago.

The municipality continued, “We warn of the flow of wastewater into the Al-Shikh Radwan pond due to the malfunction of sewage treatment stations caused by the Israeli aggression.”

It pointed out that the enemy’s Israeli army destroyed more than “85% of heavy engineering equipment and 50% of sewage and waste treatment mechanisms.”

It indicated that the occupation destroyed the municipality’s capabilities, rendering it unable to provide the minimum level of services. It added that the city is exposed to massive disasters, and the citizen who is not killed by the bombardment is exposed to death due to pollution.

The enemy’s Israeli army continues its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, leaving massive damage, heavy losses, and the destruction of all sectors and various service facilities in a systematic destruction of all the pillars of life in Gaza.

The toll of the aggression on Gaza has reached 45,259 martyrs and 107,627 injuries since October 7, 2023.
