The air defenses of the Sana’a forces shot down an American MQ-9 drone yesterday, Wednesday, while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Marib Province.

The Sana’a forces confirmed in a filmed statement delivered by the military spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, that “the operation to bring down the plane was carried out – by the grace of God Almighty – using a homemade surface-to-air missile.”

Saree stated in his statement that the targeted plane “is the second that our air defenses have managed to shoot down within 72 hours, and the fourteenth during the battle of the Promised Conquest and the Holy Jihad in support of Gaza.”

He affirmed that this operation comes “as a victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people and their mujahideen, and as part of the response to the American British aggression on Yemen.”

Saree stressed that the Sanaa forces will continue their supporting operations for Gaza, and that these operations will not stop until the aggression on Gaza is stopped, and the siege is lifted.

Last Saturday, December 28, the air defenses of the Sana’a forces had shot down an American MQ-9 drone while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Bayda Province.
