“Bitter cold” in Gaza increases the number of child victims

The Palestinian News Agency “Wafa” quoted medical sources in Gaza on Monday as saying that an infant died due to the severe cold, bringing the total number of victims of the harsh weather conditions to 8, including 7 children, in light of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

The sources indicated that the child Yousef Ahmed Anwar Kalloub “35 days old” died as a result of the harsh weather conditions and severe cold that the Gaza Strip is suffering from.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) explained in a statement that: “The cold weather and lack of shelter are causing the death of newborns in Gaza, while 7,700 newborns lack life-saving care.”
