The Israeli occupation forces released on Thursday evening, the third batch of Palestinian prisoners as part of the exchange deal with Hamas, while its forces fired tear gas canisters at dozens of Palestinians while receiving prisoners.
Thousands of Palestinians gathered in the Ramallah recreational complex to receive the released prisoners, while clashes erupted with the occupation forces in the vicinity of Ofer prison, west of Ramallah in the West Bank, following the release of a number of prisoners.
Earlier, two buses transporting Palestinian prisoners left Ofer prison, while the occupying forces fired tear gas canisters at Palestinians in the vicinity of the prison. Many of the prisoners appeared to be in poor health as a result of the occupation’s abuse and starvation, which forced them to be transferred to hospitals.
For its part, Hamas said that “the mass reception of our liberated prisoners despite the attempts of the occupation to abuse their families is a message that the issue of prisoners is a red line.” Nine of the released prisoners arrived in the Gaza Strip. The third installment of the prisoner exchange agreement includes 110 Palestinian prisoners, including those sentenced to life sentences and high sentences.
Among the editors in this batch is Zakaria al-Zubaidi, a leader of “Al-Aqsa Martyrs” who is known as one of the heroes of the “Freedom Tunnel” who managed to escape from the Israeli Gilboa prison before being arrested by the occupation again.
