The Health Ministry in Gaza announced on Thursday that the death toll from the war with Israel in the Strip rose to 47,460, after more bodies were found during the ten-day ceasefire.
The ministry said in a statement: “43 martyrs arrived at the hospitals of the Gaza Strip, including 42 recoveries, and a martyr affected by his injuries,” in addition to nine injuries in the past twenty-four hours.
According to the ministry, the number of people wounded due to the war has risen to 111,580.
Israel questions the credibility of the ministry’s figures, but the United Nations considers them reliable.
A study recently published in the British medical journal The Lancet found that the actual numbers of war casualties in the Strip are about 40 percent higher.
