the Palestinian Red Crescent said on Sunday that a woman was killed and her husband seriously wounded after Israeli soldiers shot them during the storming of the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem, while the Israeli army announced the expansion of its operation in the northern West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said a 23-year-old pregnant woman was shot dead by Israeli forces today in the Nur Shams refugee camp in the West Bank.
The ministry added in a statement that Sondos Jamal Mohammed Shalabi was eight months pregnant and was martyred by Israeli bullets and “the medical teams were unable to save the life of the fetus due to the Israeli army’s obstruction of transporting the injuries to the hospital, where Shalabi arrived martyred with her fetus.”
The statement added that Israeli bullets also caused “her husband to be critically injured by Israeli bullets during his ongoing aggression on the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm.”
The Israeli army confirmed the expansion of its operation to include the Nour Shams camp, noting that it was able to kill a number of what it described as terrorists and arrest wanted persons, while the Tulkarm battalion of the Jerusalem Brigades said that it continued to confront the Israeli forces and target their vehicles.
