Freed Palestinian detainee Adham Mansour (45 years old), a resident of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, revealed shocking details about the conditions of detention and suffering of prisoners inside Israeli prisons, including dogs to assault Palestinian prisoners.
The testimony of Mansour, who was captured by Israel on December 22, 2023, highlights the grave violations to which Palestinian prisoners are subjected, from ill-treatment to catastrophic health conditions, from beatings of detainees to placing them in crowded places and not providing treatment to the sick and injured.
On June 27, 2024, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said that the Israeli army’s use of sniffer dogs to attack Palestinian civilians during its military operations in the Gaza Strip, in addition to their use in terrorizing, ravaging and raping prisoners and detainees in Israeli detention centers, is “systematic and widely followed behavior.”
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said that the conditions of those released from Israeli prisons reflect the level of “atrocities” they were subjected to, noting that most of those released after the war of extermination suffer from health problems.
