Amid double international standards, the Israeli occupation continues to detain the bodies of hundreds of Palestinian martyrs in what is known as “cemeteries of numbers” and refrigerators, in flagrant violation of all international laws and humanitarian norms.
The comment of many countries and international organizations on the handing over of the bodies of four prisoners of occupation sparked widespread Palestinian anger because these countries and organizations ignored the ongoing crimes against Palestinian martyrs, whom the occupation authorities not only kill, but also deliberately abuse their bodies after their martyrdom, in scenes that reflect unlimited brutality.
With the withdrawal of the occupation army from some areas in the Gaza Strip, the extent of the massacres it committed against Palestinians became clear, as hundreds of bodies were found in the streets of the Gaza Strip and were burned and mutilated.
Human rights reports, most notably issued by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, revealed that the occupation buried hundreds of martyrs in mass graves, in addition to targeting Palestinian cemeteries with shelling and vandalism, and looting and stealing the bodies of martyrs in crimes documented by audio and video.
