Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:
A recent report issued by the Italian Institute of Political Studies showed that the military operations led by the US and European countries for more than a year have failed to contain the Houthi threat in the Red Sea.
The report indicates that the American strategy failed to curb the Houthis, and the “Prosperity Guardian” alliance was unable to restore maritime security in the region.
It quoted experts as saying that the Houthis have proven their ability to impose new equations in the Red Sea, amid the failure of international efforts to contain them.
The report explains that the American strikes didn’t significantly weaken the Houthis’ military capabilities, due to their possession of a large stock of ballistic missiles and drones, in addition to active military manufacturing workshops.
The report concludes that the European Union has adopted an approach based on risk mitigation rather than eliminating threats, maintaining a defensive position that diminished the value of deterrence while avoiding involvement in operations led by the US.
