Rafah Municipality holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the ongoing crimes in the city and holds the international community and relevant actors responsible for their silence and inaction in the face of these massacres, calling for urgent international action before it is too late.
In a statement issued today, the municipality stressed the need for immediate and decisive intervention to save thousands of families trapped under bombardment. This includes urgently opening safe humanitarian corridors to evacuate those trapped and delivering relief aid to rescue the wounded and displaced who lack food, water, and shelter.
The municipality also stressed the need to immediately halt the barbaric aggression on Rafah and Tel Sultan, warning that the continued heavy bombardment could turn the area into a mass grave for its residents and their rescuers.
In the same context, the municipality demanded an immediate disclosure of the fate of ambulance and civil defense crews who lost contact amid the intense bombardment, stressing that targeting them constitutes a war crime that requires immediate international accountability.
The municipality considered the continued international silence to be direct complicity in the ongoing massacres, calling on the international community and international courts to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes before the humanitarian catastrophe in Rafah worsens.
