Gaza Municipality: water in Gaza is not suitable for drinking

Gaza Mayor Yahya al-Sarraj said on Monday that the Strip is suffering from dire humanitarian conditions due to the closure of crossings and the denial of aid entry.

Sarraj added that the Strip “is suffering from a severe shortage of food, water, medicine, and fuel.”

He explained that “the water in the Strip is undrinkable, and the food shortage threatens a serious disaster, especially for children and women.”

UN Secretary-General’s spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, said earlier today that bakeries in the Gaza Strip “have been forced to close, and our warehouses and those of our humanitarian partners have run out of tents needed for the displaced.”

Dujarric added, “We cannot access some of our warehouses inside Gaza due to forced displacement orders.”

The occupying forces, with full US support, have continued to commit genocidal crimes against the population of Gaza since October 7, 2023, bringing the death toll to approximately 168,000, including dead and wounded, most of whom are women and children, in addition to more than 14,000 missing.
