Norway: The situation in Gaza is unbelievably catastrophic and must stop immediately

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide described the situation in the Palestinian Gaza Strip on Monday as “catastrophic,” calling for an immediate end to it.

This came during a joint press conference with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, in the capital, Amman.

Eide said, “The situation we are seeing in Gaza is catastrophic and unbelievable, and it must stop immediately.”

The Norwegian minister considered that “forced displacement is a violation of international law… the expulsion of Palestinians violates all universal principles.”

Safadi, meanwhile, considered that “Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon is a war crime,” stressing that “the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza is unacceptable.”
