Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor: Israel is confining Gaza Palestinians to the south to displace them in accordance with the Trump plan

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor warned that Israel is seeking to confine Palestinians in the Gaza Strip to a narrow area on the southern coast of the Strip in order to displace them, in accordance with the plan previously announced by US President Donald Trump.

The monitor stated in a report that “since the beginning of 2025, the Israeli occupation forces have issued at least 35 displacement orders in Gaza, affecting more than one million people.”

It stated that the most recent of these orders were issued to Palestinians in 14 neighborhoods in the northern Gaza Strip to evacuate and move to the southern areas.

The monitor emphasized that these orders “are issued completely independent of any military necessity, and even without resorting to the usual pretexts such as rocket fire” by the factions.

It considered this “clearly demonstrates that Israel no longer cares even about providing a formal cover for the crimes it is committing, and that displacement itself is a goal and is being implemented as a deliberate and declared policy to systematically uproot the population, as part of a fully-fledged crime of genocide.”
