The Israeli leftist organization Ir Amim stated that the past May recorded a record number of demolitions by Israel in East Jerusalem for the year 2025.
It mentioned in a statement that May had the highest number of demolitions in 2025 so far, with a total of 33 demolished buildings, including 16 residential units and 17 non-residential buildings. This raises the total number of demolitions in East Jerusalem since the beginning of the year to 93 operations, including 53 residential units and 40 non-residential buildings.
According to the organization’s data, 23 buildings were demolished in January, 15 in February, 14 in March, 8 in April, and 33 in May.
