The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said on Saturday that famine and malnutrition are ravaging the children of the Gaza Strip, amid the blockade and US-backed genocidal war waged by Israel against the Palestinians.
This came after the Gaza government announced that the number of child deaths due to malnutrition had risen to 66 since October 7, 2023, due to the closure of crossings, the tightening of the Israeli blockade, and the ban on the import of milk.
The movement added in a statement that “famine and malnutrition are ravaging the children of Gaza, and the world must take immediate and urgent action to stop the ongoing starvation crime.”
It explained that “more than 66 children in the Gaza Strip have lost their lives due to complications of malnutrition and famine resulting from the entrenched blockade and systematic starvation policy imposed on the Gaza Strip by the government of the war criminal (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu.”
