The World Health Organization warned on Tuesday of the deteriorating health situation in the Gaza Strip, stressing that current conditions have become catastrophic, especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women, in light of the ongoing Israeli bombing and the denial of humanitarian aid.
The organization noted that the scarcity of clean water, along with the disruption of food supply chains, directly and seriously impacts the health of women and children and limits the health sector’s ability to provide essential care.
The organization stated that the continued targeting of health facilities and the denial of aid entry “makes the situation unbearable.”
It added that Gaza is facing an extremely dangerous health and humanitarian scenario that requires urgent intervention from the international community.
