The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today that 360 medical personnel have been arrested since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Strip. The Ministry called on the relevant authorities to “intervene to criminalize the occupation’s practices against imprisoned medical personnel and pressure them to release.”
The Ministry noted that imprisoned medical personnel in Israeli detention centers are living under “tragic and difficult conditions.”
In the same context, the Ministry stated that “the lawyer for the imprisoned Dr. Hussam Abu Safia described his health condition, given the deliberate denial of treatment, as critical.”
These developments come amid escalating Israeli violations against the health sector in Gaza, amid international silence and continued disregard for demands to release imprisoned medical personnel and stop targeting them.
