According to a report published by the “USNI News” platform affiliated with the US Naval Institute, the combat support ship “USNS Arctic” recently completed one of the most difficult missions in its history after a deployment that lasted nine consecutive months in the Red Sea, where it faced repeated attacks by drones and missiles.

The report quoted Admiral Philip Sobeck, commander of the US Military Sealift Command, as saying, “We are facing naval confrontations that we have not seen the likes of since the 1940s,” referring to the military operations carried out by the Yemeni forces in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The report added that the crew of the “Arctic” ship was working under difficult combat conditions, as it required a constant state of readiness to face the successive threats, which led to an unprecedented exhaustion of the crew and equipment alike.

It is noteworthy that the American ship is currently heading to South Carolina to undergo a comprehensive six-month maintenance operation, an exceptional period that reflects the extent of the damage it suffered during its last mission.

This American admission comes at a time when the region is witnessing a noticeable escalation, as the Yemeni forces have managed to impose a new reality in the Red Sea through a series of successful operations against ships linked to Israel, in support of Gaza.

This report is considered an important document that reveals the extent of the pressures that the American forces have been subjected to in the Red Sea, and it also represents an acknowledgment of the effectiveness of the Yemeni operations that aim to support the Palestinian people in confronting the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza.
