The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip launched an urgent appeal on Sunday for citizens to immediately go to hospitals in the Strip to donate blood, in light of the severe shortage of blood banks, especially rare blood types.
In a brief statement, the Ministry confirmed that the greatest need currently is for type O negative blood, warning of the danger of depleting these rare blood types, which threatens the lives of thousands of wounded and sick people, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression and blockade.
This appeal comes at a time when the Strip is witnessing an increase in the number of wounded and injured as a result of the ongoing Israeli bombardment, which has led to significant pressure on the health system and a severe depletion of medical resources and supplies, especially blood.
