Gaza Municipality spokesman Asem al-Nabih warned of a worsening water crisis in Gaza City after the Israeli occupation army destroyed approximately 75% of the central wells, stressing that the city is experiencing a suffocating thirst, lacking the most basic necessities of life.
Al-Nabih explained that the municipality is unable to provide the minimum basic services to residents, amid a massive shortage of essential needs, pointing out that tens of thousands of families have decided to remain in the city despite the high risks.
He added that some families are resorting to heading to eastern Gaza despite the danger of the area due to the lack of alternatives, warning that the situation will become more complicated with the approach of winter in light of the ongoing blockade and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
