King of Spain: We cannot turn a blind eye to the killing of civilians in Gaza

King Felipe VI of Spain said on Wednesday that his country cannot turn a blind eye to Israel’s killing of civilians in Gaza, stressing that what is happening in the Strip is a disgrace to the international community.

In a speech delivered before the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the King of Spain added, “We cannot remain silent or turn a blind eye to the destruction of schools and hospitals and the killing and starvation of civilians in Gaza.”

He called for an end to “the ongoing killings in the Gaza Strip.” He considered what is happening in the Strip “shocking to the human conscience and a disgrace to the international community.”

King Felipe VI called on the international community to assume its responsibilities to achieve peace through a two-state solution and urged the immediate delivery of aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip.
