Gaza Health: Blood banks in hospitals are threatened with complete shutdown

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that blood bank services in hospitals are threatened with a complete halt due to the lack of laboratory supplies and blood transfusion equipment.

In a press statement received by Quds Press on Thursday, the ministry said, “The severe shortage of laboratory supplies further complicates the crisis, along with the acute shortage of blood units and components.”

The ministry noted that “no blood units or components can be received or transfused without laboratory supplies.”

It stressed that “the crisis hinders the urgent needs of vital departments and the conduct of laboratory tests, with the increasing number of wounded.”
