Lazzarini criticizes a disinformation campaign led by the occupation against UNRWA

On Saturday, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, criticized a “fierce and well-funded” media disinformation campaign led by the occupation against the agency.

In a post published on the “X” platform, Lazzarini stated that during a high-level ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, he confirmed that “UNRWA has been subjected to a fierce and well-funded media disinformation campaign led by the occupation.”

He added that “these campaigns have devastating effects and must end,” stressing the necessity of lifting the ban imposed on international media outlets entering the Gaza Strip to cover events independently.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupation, with American and European support, has continued its aggression on Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 65,000 civilians and injuries to over 167,000, according to a preliminary toll, amid difficulties in reaching victims under the rubble.
