The Israeli blockade and genocide threaten the lives of cancer patients in Gaza

Cancer patients in the Gaza Strip face extremely dire health conditions due to the strict Israeli closure of the crossings and the prevention of travel for treatment outside the Strip, which has been subjected to a genocidal campaign for nearly two years. This has exacerbated the deterioration of their condition and placed them at risk of slow death.

Patients’ suffering is exacerbated by the severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies and the suspension of intravenous chemotherapy services since the end of May, which has increased their chances of developing serious health complications.

In a video published by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, a Palestinian doctor and patients with leukemia appealed to the international community and humanitarian organizations to urgently intervene to evacuate them outside the Strip for treatment and to save their lives.

The Ministry of Health stated at the end of May that 11,000 cancer patients in Gaza are without adequate treatment or healthcare, while 64 percent of its cancer medications have run out.
