The “Conscience” flotilla continues sailing towards Gaza despite threats to intercept it

Madeleine Habib, captain of one of the ships of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s “Conscience” flotilla, said that the flotilla’s crews are continuing their journey to Gaza and will not be deterred by anything, despite their awareness of the risk of being intercepted by Israel.

Habib confirmed in press statements that “their goal is to reach the coast of Gaza to deliver a message of solidarity with the besieged Palestinians and with the activists of the Global Steadfastness Flotilla who are still being held in Israeli prisons.”

Habib said, “We are the next wave. There is not just one flotilla, but a global movement of people who believe in the need to break the siege on Gaza and stop the ongoing genocide there.”

Habib added that the people of the world have taken to the streets, and governments must take action to break the siege on Gaza.

The captain noted that the new flotilla includes 92 activists from 25 different countries, including doctors, journalists, and humanitarian volunteers, and that morale on board is extremely high.

She explained that the ship is currently sailing in international waters, heading towards an area classified as “medium risk” in terms of the possibility of Israeli interception, and stressed that the crew “is aware of the risks but remains steadfast in its position.”
