Global shipping companies monitor Gaza negotiations for return to the Red Sea

Exclusive – Al-Khabar Al-Yemeni:

Global shipping companies are monitoring the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza to assess the prospects of returning to sailing through the Red Sea.

The American agency “FreightWaves,” which specializes in maritime transport sector data, stated that shipping companies are awaiting the outcomes of the negotiations regarding Gaza to evaluate the possibilities of returning to the Red Sea.

It confirmed that returning to the Red Sea mainly depends on ensuring a state of stability and the non-resumption of war in Gaza.

The agency added in a report that ship operators hesitated to resume their operations in the Red Sea during what they considered a fragile ceasefire between “Israel” and Hamas in January of this year, which ended in March.

The agency pointed out that the US and European forces cannot be relied upon, noting that “the intense naval attacks launched by the US during the Biden administration, and then the Trump administration, on Yemen failed to neutralize Yemeni capabilities; in fact, the US Navy lost three fighter jets in incidents in the Red Sea.”
