The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip stated that thousands of patients need urgent evacuation from the Strip for treatment abroad, given the collapse of the health system in the Strip.
The Ministry stated in a statement that 22,000 patients need to travel and receive treatment outside the Strip, noting that 5,600 injured children have received permission to leave the Strip for treatment.
The Ministry added that 5,000 cancer patients need treatment outside the Strip, while 20% of children under the age of five suffer from severe malnutrition.
The Ministry of Health stated that 30% of those wounded in the Israeli aggression on the Strip are children, while the Israeli aggression has left 56,000 children orphaned in Gaza.
For his part, Khalil Al-Daqran, a spokesman for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza, confirmed that the lives of 22,000 patients are in danger due to the enemy preventing them from leaving Gaza for treatment.
The occupying authorities continue to close the Rafah crossing, preventing citizens, including the sick and wounded, from traveling abroad for medical treatment. This is despite the lack of medical resources and capabilities due to the two-year Israeli aggression and genocide. This is in parallel with the ban on the entry of any medical aid or supplies into the Gaza Strip.
