A human rights organization calls on the world to pressure the opening of the Gaza Strip to the media

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) stressed on Tuesday the need to open the Gaza Strip to journalists who have been denied independent access to the Strip since October 2023 due to the devastating two-year war waged by Israel.

RSF said it joined the legal petition filed by the Foreign Press Association (FPA) demanding that the borders be opened to independent journalists. It submitted its legal brief on October 15 to support the association’s position before the Supreme Court to challenge this ban.

The organization noted that preventing international journalists from entering Gaza further isolates Palestinian journalists, leaving them to face Israeli smear campaigns and the enormous risks they face on the ground while covering events in the Strip.
