The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since the ceasefire was announced on October 11 has reached 88 martyrs, with 315 wounded with varying degrees of severity.
The Ministry explained in an urgent statement that rescue crews were able to retrieve the bodies of 436 martyrs from under the rubble. The martyrs had died in previous attacks, but the ongoing bombing and the difficulty of rescue teams reaching the destroyed areas prevented their timely recovery.
The Ministry stressed that the continued death toll and injury after the ceasefire was announced reflects the extent of ongoing Israeli violations against civilians in the Strip, explaining that the majority of the victims are women and children who were targeted inside their homes and camps.
The Ministry of Health called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to urgently intervene to protect civilians, ensure the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and enable medical and civil defense personnel to safely reach the targeted areas and retrieve bodies trapped under the rubble.
