The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Sunday that it is currently operating more than 70 shelters in the Gaza Strip, housing tens of thousands of forcibly displaced people amid ongoing dire humanitarian conditions.
The agency explained on its official website that the Strip has witnessed widespread destruction, including unstable buildings and unexploded ordnance that continue to pose a threat to the population.
UNRWA affirmed that its teams are continuing to work to keep the shelters operational and provide safe spaces for children to continue learning and playing despite the current situation.
