UNRWA: More than 282,000 homes destroyed or damaged in Gaza as a result of the Israeli aggression

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that more than 282,000 homes in Gaza have been destroyed or damaged during Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on the Strip.

The agency said in a blog post on the X platform that these figures are based on data from the Shelter Convergence Mechanism (GCEM), jointly managed by the UNHCR and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. According to the data, the ongoing Israeli bombardment has destroyed or damaged more than 282,000 homes, leaving tens of thousands of Palestinian families homeless. UNRWA explained that thousands of families have been forced to live in tents, under harsh humanitarian conditions as winter approaches. The agency noted that displaced Palestinian families “live in cramped spaces, lacking privacy and having limited access to basic services.” UNRWA affirmed that it, along with its humanitarian partners, continues to provide assistance to displaced families.
