The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday morning that the Israeli occupation forces are withholding the bodies of two Palestinians killed in Hebron and Beit Rima.
The Ministry stated that the General Authority for Civil Affairs informed them of the death of 17-year-old Muhand Tariq Muhammad Zughair, who was shot by Israeli forces in Hebron, and that his body was being held by the occupation forces. In a separate statement, the Ministry announced the death of 18-year-old Muhammad Ruslan Mahmoud Asmar from Beit Rima, north of Ramallah, who was shot by Israeli forces and whose body was also being held by the occupation forces.
In this context, the Palestinian Campaign to Retrieve the Bodies of Martyrs announced that the number of bodies of Palestinians killed by the occupation forces has risen to 761, including 74 children, 89 prisoners, and 10 women, following the withholding of the bodies of the two Palestinians killed in Hebron and Beit Rima.
The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank and Jerusalem since the beginning of 2025 has risen to 253, including 25 from Hebron and 22 from Ramallah and al-Bireh.
According to data from the Shireen Observatory, Israeli forces have withheld the bodies of 109 Palestinians from the West Bank since the beginning of 2025. The Observatory noted that 66 Palestinians were killed in targeted assassinations carried out by Israeli forces, while 13 were killed in settler attacks.
