Gaza: Heavy rains flood hundreds of tents belonging to displaced people

Heavy rains on Monday evening caused hundreds of tents belonging to displaced people to flood and many others to be blown away in western Gaza City.

Eyewitnesses reported that hundreds of tents were flooded, particularly in the Chalets and Gaza Port areas west of the city.

The witnesses indicated that the winds accompanying the new storm affecting the Gaza Strip caused widespread damage to the tents, with many being blown away. Residents were attempting to secure the tents and salvage their belongings from the flooding.

The displaced people are suffering from dire humanitarian conditions due to the severe weather and successive storms, especially given the lack of protection and safe alternative shelters.
