Heavy rains flood Al-Shifa Hospital

Heavy rains flooded the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip and thousands of tents belonging to displaced Palestinians early Tuesday morning, while hundreds more were blown away by a storm that has been battering the territory since Monday evening.

This is the second storm to hit the Gaza Strip in less than a week. The first, named “Biron,” caused the deaths of 14 Palestinians and damaged or partially flooded 53,000 tents, exacerbating the suffering of the Palestinian population.

Sources reported that rainwater seeped into sections of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, particularly the emergency room, disrupting operations.

Al-Shifa Medical Complex is the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip and suffered extensive damage, including bombings and arson attacks, during the Israeli offensive on Gaza.
